What is Carboxytherapy and what is its action?

Carboxytherapy is the treatment in which carbon dioxide is injected into the tissues under the skin to regenerate the cells, thus treating dark circles in the eyes and wrinkles.

It is based on the natural function of the body, to use oxygen to eliminate carbon dioxide.

It is an ideal treatment for dark circles in the eyes, since the administration of a small amount of carbon dioxide gas enhances blood circulation (rich in oxygen) in the area.

How many times does the treatment need to be repeated?

Usually 6-10 times is enough, but the exact number of repetitions will depend on the size of the problem we want to deal with.

Does Carboxytherapy hurt?

Due to the stretching of the tissues, there is a slight discomfort at the application site, for a few minutes.

The feeling of discomfort varies from point to point.

On the eyelids:

Feeling of swelling, which subsides in 5-10 minutes.

On the gums:

Very little discomfort, maybe a feeling of itching or pressure that subsides in 5-10 minutes.

Does it have side effects?

No. Carbon dioxide is naturally produced by cells on a daily basis, as it is a byproduct of metabolism. It is transported in the blood and excreted by the lungs. The only side effect is the possibility of bruising at the injection site.
