Will permanently visible scars remain from liposuction?
In the majority of cases, scars become nearly invisible within 6-12 months. With proper care and sun protection, most people cannot detect scars after full healing.
How many incisions are usually made?
The number of incisions depends on the area and the extent of the treatment. Usually two incisions per area are needed, one for the insertion and one for the removal of the cannula.
Can I do something about scars that already exist?
If you've already had liposuction and are concerned about visible scars, talk to your doctor. There are specialized treatments such as fractional laser that can improve the appearance of scars.
Is there a chance I'll develop keloid scars?
Keloid scars are rare after liposuction, but if you have a history of such scars, you must definitely mention it to your doctor before the procedure.
When will I see the final result?
The final shape of your body will be visible after the complete resolution of edema, usually in 3-6 months. The scars continue to improve for up to one year.
