The appearance of the coronavirus worldwide, leads us to a more responsible behavior, and therefore to some limitations in our daily lives.
By staying at home, we limit the spread of the virus, but we sacrifice some of our comforts for this indefinite period of time.
One of them is the maintenance of laser hair removal, one of the most common services we provide at Facemed. So we are here to answer the most common question we receive from you!
How can I maintain the effect of laser hair removal, for the duration of the quarantine?
There are some alternative ways that we can apply to keep hair growth at a reduced level, but we must be careful in our choice.
Wax
The best solution for maintaining the effect of laser hair removal temporarily, is by waxing. That is because with the wax, we weaken the hairs that have remained from the last application of the laser and consequently we improve the result. In addition, the wax offers an effect lasting an average of 2-4 weeks, so we can ensure reduced hair growth. It can be applied to all parts of the body, even the face.
However, special care is needed in its application, as it can cause skin irritations and even allergic reactions. So, read the contraindications on the package, before buying the product you will choose.
Hair clippers
With the clippers, we can do trimming in the area we want, and keep the hair growth reduced. Unfortunately it needs frequent repetition and does not completely relieve us from the length of the hair, but it should be preferred compared to shaving, as it does not strengthen the hair follicle.
Pair of scissors
The scissors can be used carefully to reduce the length of the hair, so that it is not easily visible, but the process should be repeated almost every day. Great care is required for its use in places where there is no good visibility such as the armpits or the bikini, to avoid injuries.
Razor blade
Shaving should be our last choice, as it enhances hair growth, which returns thicker and thicker. Also, shaving by use of the razor should be repeated every 1-3 days, resulting in irritation and bursitis. If in the end we do not find another way and the razor is the solution to our needs, we do not need to worry. The result of the laser hair removal may go 1-2 steps backwards but when we return to everyday life, we will continue the maintenance sessions normally!
Epilators
With the epilators, through the roller they have, some hairs "turn" and there is a possibility of a cyst or bursitis. That is why our advice is to avoid them and in no case whatsoever to apply them on the face area.
In this special time that we are going through, we must above all act responsibly to preserve our health and that of those around us, limiting our movements to the absolutely necessary.
But this does not mean that we should stop taking care of our appearance.
